Prison Is Far Better Than Being in Same House with Politicians – Seun Kuti

Seun Kuti, a renowned Afrobeats artist, recently opened up about his harrowing time spent in police custody.

After being arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer, Seun was detained in jail for several days before finally being released. The Yaba Chief Magistrate Court had ordered his remand at the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department, SCIID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos.

In a recent Instagram post, the Grammy-nominated musician shared his prison experience. He recounted being forced to lie on the cold, hard floor alongside other inmates. Surprisingly, Seun mentioned that he found this preferable to associating with politicians in what he referred to as the “Devil’s house.”

Fortunately, on Tuesday, May 23, Seun Kuti was granted his freedom once again. Currently, he has flown to Switzerland to embark on his European music tour.
