It has been a decade and more that has passed since the apartments were left abandoned, but there is a viral video that a worried person got. This individual caught in recording the block of flats completely dilapidated, happened to also mention that the apartment was built by a politician.
According to the man who shot this video, these buildings were constructed more than a decade ago by a well-known politician but left unattended by now. He narrated that the building exists but has never been host. The entire property now has become an issue, though the building itself stands intact.
What is worrying, the man added, is that the politician refuses to even lower the rent or selling price to reflect the current state of neglect and lack of demand. “Instead of bringing it down to make it affordable or even trying to sell it at a fair price, the politician abandoned the property,” he stated. “Now, we have a whole block of flats that no one can afford and no one is willing to move into.”
He further went on to mention the contradiction regarding the whole situation, on how a politician who probably could afford to erect such a project would let it rot and do not bother to try and put it to productive use. “These flats have been abandoned for over a decade,” he added, visibly frustrated. “It’s a complete waste of space. Nobody is living here, and yet the politician won’t even lower the prices to make it usable. All we have now is a ghost property, left to waste away.”

Reactions have started pouring in all over social media, with many even calling the politician’s name for not holding himself accountable and having empathy for the community.
This situation opens itself up to very serious queries about accountability, especially from public figures as regards the responsibility of making use of power and resources for the greater good of society.
