Europa League Draw Out

The draw for the Europa League quarter-finals has taken place, with Manchester United set to face Sevilla, a team that has won six editions of the tournament since 2006. United will face Sevilla next month for the last-eight tie. If they win, they will face the winner of Juventus’ tie with Sporting, the team who knocked out Arsenal on Thursday. Elsewhere in the draw, Roma will take on Feyenoord, Leverkusen will take on Union Saint-Gilloise, and Erik ten Hag’s Ajax will take on the Spanish specialists, Sevilla.

The quarter-finals first legs will take place on April 13, with the return fixture on April 20. The semi-finals first-legs will take place on May 11, with the second-legs on May 18. If United and Juventus win their quarter-finals, they will face each other in the semi-finals.

United will face a Spanish opponent for the third time in a row, having previously faced Real Sociedad and Granada in the previous rounds. Sevilla has a reputation for being Europa League experts, having won six editions of the tournament since 2006. They beat United at the semi-final stage in 2020.

Elsewhere in the draw, Jose Mourinho’s Roma will take on Feyenoord in a repeat of last year’s Europa Conference League final, while Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen will take on Union Saint-Gilloise, the sister club of Premier League side Brighton. Ajax’s knockout stages have seen them beat Barcelona and Real Betis.
