The Nigeria Police have addressed viral claims concerning the arrest of Lil Smart, a former Marlian Records signee, following an online disagreement with his ex-record label CEO, Naira Marley, and Zinoleesky.
Notably, Lil Smart was recently involved in a dispute with Zinoleesky and Naira Marley, accusing them of manipulation, kidnapping, and physical assault.
Stanley Ontop, a well-known Nollywood producer, recently stated that Lil Smart had been arrested and held at a secret location, causing social media to go crazy.
In a fresh development, the Nigeria Police have made a post on Instagram, addressing the reports surrounding Lil Smart’s detention.
The police department confirmed earlier claims that Lil Smart was detained for distributing false information about Naira Marley and engaging in cyberstalking and cyberbullying.
Furthermore, according to the post, Lil Smart was taken into custody at his home in Mejamogun Estate, Ajah, Lagos, last month, and pertinent evidence was found. The article says
, “Following a petition filed by a law firm, operatives of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime arrested one Idowu Smart Emmanuel, for criminal defamation, cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and falsehood against Abdulazeez Adeshina Fashola (A.K.A Naira Marley)”.
Investigations revealed that the suspect, using his Instagram handle @lilsmart_ , falsely alleged that he was abducted, assaulted”.
“On January 28, 2025, he was apprehended at his residence in Megamound Estate, Ajah, Lagos, and the exhibits involved in this crime were recovered”.
