The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released the photographs of four persons allegedly implicated in the Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX) scam. It said some thousands of Nigerians are said to incur great financial losses through the exposure to the scam.
The agency announced on Friday through its official X (formerly Twitter) account that the name of the alleged suspects-the accused persons-were Seyi Oloyede, Emmanuel Uko, Adefowora Oluwanisola, and Adefowora Abiodun Olaonipekun.
According to the EFCC, these individuals are wanted in respect of a case that also includes them in defrauding investors using CBEX-a purported online trading platform that was riddled with highly alluring promises and finally collapsed, leading to losses amounting to millions of naira.
“The persons whose photographs appear above are, therefore, wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for fraud allegedly perpetrated on an online trading platform called Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX),” the EFCC stated.
The Commission asked that anyone with credible information concerning the whereabouts of the suspects should report it to any of its offices located in Ibadan, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, or Port Harcourt.
This follows the granting of permission for the EFCC to arrest and detain six promoters of CBEX in connection with an alleged investment fraud amounting to more than one billion dollars by the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The latest development is further bold and decisive actions by the EFCC in the ongoing fight against financial crime, which released photos of wanted persons.
