Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has officially petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, requesting a thorough investigation into what he described as an alleged assassination plot against him by fellow lawmaker, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
This petition comes days after Senator Natasha claimed that Akpabio was allegedly plotting to have her assassinated through former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello — and not just anywhere o — but right inside Kogi State.
According to reports, Natasha accused Akpabio of instructing Bello to eliminate her in Kogi so it would seem like her constituents were behind it. E choke!
But in a sharp clapback, Akpabio didn’t waste time. He described the allegation as a “heinous lie” and a “reckless and deliberate attempt” to tarnish his image. He’s now demanding that Natasha be prosecuted for criminal defamation.
In his words (as seen in the petition):
“I write to formally bring to your attention and seek immediate investigation and prosecution of a criminally defamatory and malicious statement made against me by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan…”
Akpabio also claimed her outburst was politically motivated, aimed at manipulating public opinion and damaging both his personal and official reputation.
