In a post on X, formerly Twitter, a new mother described her experience of suffering partial facial paralysis during pregnancy.
She disclosed in her article that she had been diagnosed with Bell’s palsy, a disorder that results in facial nerve weakening and paralysis on one side of the face.
She wrote an explanation of the condition: “Bell’s palsy is a condition where the nerves on one side of a person’s face become weak, essentially paralyzing that side.”
“This makes it difficult to smile, laugh, drink water, eat, close your eyes, or even speak properly. The mouth bends to one side, and sometimes, there is drooling.
It is most commonly seen in women in their third trimester or those who have recently given birth.”
As soon as her tale became viral, a lot of people who were worried about her flooded the comment area with their opinions and encouraging comments.
