President Donald Trump has criticized a Washington bishop for urging him to show mercy to illegal immigrants and members of the LGBTQ community.
Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington made this appeal during the National Prayer Service on Tuesday. She claimed that Trump’s new policies instill terror in the hearts of immigrants and members of the LGBTQ community.
However, in a statement released on Wednesday, Trump referred to her as a bigot and demanded an apology. “The so-called bishop who spoke at Tuesday morning’s National Prayer Service was a hardline radical left Trump detractor. “She brought her church into the world of politics in an ungrateful way.
She spoke in a harsh tone and was neither compelling nor intelligent. “Aside from her inappropriate words, the service was uninteresting and uninspiring. She is not particularly adept at her job! She and her church owe a public apology!” Donald Trump stated.
