According to Nigerian actor Yul Edochie, no villager is holding Nigerians captive. In a Facebook post, he made this claim and urged Nigerians to reject the notion that villagers are impeding their advancement.
He claims that Nigerians are the ones who are holding themselves up since the villagers are also attempting to improve their own lot in life.
Additionally, Yul said that the church is not the answer to every problem and urged people to visit their communities and discover their true selves.
He wrote, “Nobody hold you for village. Village people don’t even have your time.
They’re busy trying to make headway in their own lives. Na you hold yourself.
Go home, go traditional and ask questions about your life. Know who you are, where you come from and where you should be heading to.
Church doesn’t solve everything.”
