As you may remember, Speed Darlington was arrested in late 2024 for remarks he made about Afrobeat artist Burna Boy.
The police claim that Speed Darlington was accused of defaming and cyberstalking Burna Boy.
On December 23, 2024, the Federal High Court granted him bail, but he remained in detention.
His lawyer accused Burna Boy of paying the police to hold his client after the cops refused to let the musician go. But on Monday, January 6, 2025, the court ordered the police to free Darlington once more.
The rapper accused the IGP of violating his rights and filed a N300 million lawsuit against them a few hours after the court order.
