Ayodeji Makun, also known as AY, is an actor and producer who has drawn a lot of criticism for his remarks criticizing the lack of support for men in Nollywood.
On Monday, the comedian and actor voiced his dissatisfaction over what he saw as the lack of support that men receive in the film industry compared to that of their female counterparts.
He stated, “Must we have breast and yansh to have the support of our fellow men?”
In an attempt to promote his most recent film, “The Waiter,” AY made this remark, but it appears to have offended several people. As a result, he has come under fire from online users who say he is attempting to use sympathy to sell his films.
He has been charged by others as minimizing the efforts of women in the film industry to little more than “breast and nyash.”
An X user, @Winifred, stated, “This tweet reeks of desperation and ignorance, you can promote your movie without Playing the pity card and trying to downplay other people’s efforts, ewwwww.
Btw, you can go for BBL just like Bob and maybe then, we will watch your movies.”
Another tweep, @UchayOkolee wrote, “Reducing the likes of Funke Akindele’s success to having “breast and nyash” lmao!! So Funke and Co have the support of your fellow men because of breast and nyash??? Uncle, the world has already gone mad. Men are now changing their genitals to a woman’s own. You can do yours.”
According to @Osumare Ayomi, “Femi Adebayo doesn’t have breasts, though.
And I’ve not seen Kunle Afolayan’s breasts. Or Niyi Akinmolayan’s breasts. Or Kayode Kasum’s breasts.
Maybe the problem has not been properly diagnosed.”
